EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST AND PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISOR
Amanda has spent the last 10 years of her career dedicated to emergency preparedness, response, and recovery, with a special focus on emergency management for disproportionately impacted populations. Amanda began her career as a Public Health Emergency Management Specialist for the State of Alaska where she served in multiple roles including Planning Section Chief, ADA Consultant, and ADA Advisor. Amanda came to Connect Consulting Services, Inc. from FEMA where she served as the Inclusive Emergency Management Advisor for FEMA’s elite National response team. Over the course of her time with FEMA, Amanda advised Federal Coordinating Officers and Chiefs of Staff on strategic, operational, and tactical procedures, protocols, and courses of action on whole community planning. Amanda served as the Lead Advisor in several disasters including Hurricane Harvey and the Camp Fire.
Amanda received her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage and her Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from Northwest Nazarene University. Amanda is also a Certified ADA Coordinator and Certified ADA Professional. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching Boise State football, and playing with her maltipoo, Paisley.
